Our goal is to take women from where they are now,
to where they want to be.
When we teach a class on the five tranzitions, women often ask the question,
“How do you know if you are in tranzition"? Well,
Do you like where you are right now?
Are you happy, fulfilled in your current situation?
Are you struggling with major changes in your life?
If you like where you are right now, that’s a great thing.
If you’re not quite sure that you like where you are right now,
then you’re probably in a tranzition.”
A tranzition is where you want to change how you perceive your life.
“Change" is physical, where as a “tranzition,” is mental
We’re going to talk about the different ways to change where you are.
Let's just say you are in a car and your journey is clear, you have the
road map for where you are going.
You are in the right lane, and all of a sudden, you are suddenly on the wrong path,
and you are on a road you don’t recognize.
Your car is not on the path you started on, you don’t recognize the direction you are going in,
and you are not clear on the destination.
In this situation, you had to change your mental capacity to this new direction.
That is a tranzition!
Where you are now wasn’t the plan. I've had to go through many tranzitions in my life.
So lets talk about a few major tranzitions. Going from are marriage to divorce. Marriage is the path, the car is heading in the right direction. You've been planning this destination for years and now its finally happened. Your car is heading in the right direction. But then one day, there comes a detour, the life you were leading, the road you thought you would be on has just derailed and now you are heading down a dark, unfamiliar road. Dealing with a divorce can derail you for life. It can be extremely difficult to overcome that tranzition, and it can bring defeat, loneliness, hurt, pain and bitterness.
I've had to overcome this major upset in my life, twice.
Other Major Tranzitions:
Losing A Job
Losing a Loved one
Having a Child
Many tranzitions can be overcome, however, most of us don't know how to make the mental shift. That's why we have developed classes for women that will help them make the shift and take them from where they are now, to where they want to go.
Our Tranzition begins much a like caterpillar who had just hatched from an egg.
Soon enough, the little caterpillar (known as a larva)
stuffs itself with leaves (outside influences,
thoughts, etc.) but still growing little by little.
When they’ve outgrown (ready to change) their current skin, a hormone called ecdysone is released, instructing the larva to moult.
After it moults about five times, the larva stops feeding, hangs upside down from a twig or leaf, and then either spins itself a silky cocoon or molts into a shiny chrysalis.
This process is driven by the same hormone, ecdysone, but this time it works in
conjunction with another hormone called the juvenile hormone.
It’s actually the lack of the juvenile hormone that triggers
the metamorphosis mechanism.
The caterpillar’s metamorphosis from a tree clinging, 12-legged pest into the majestic flying butterfly is a frequent metaphor for
total transformations (tranzition).
It’s truly a fantastic mechanism developed by nature, yet while it may seem fantastic from the outside, this tranzition looks pretty gruesome deep inside the chrysalis.
In short, for a caterpillar to turn into a butterfly, it digests itself using enzymes triggered by hormones.
Then, sleeping cells (similar to stem cells) grow into the body
parts of the future butterfly.
Why this story? I believe that is what happens when we finally
decide to make the change
necessary to grow into what we are designed to be,
beautiful, smart, vibrant beings.
Tranzitions was designed to help women make this change. We all need that metamorphosis to go from climbing the tree to our cocoon affect, then when the time is right, we grow our
wings and then we are able to soar.
That is why our logo is a beautiful blue butterfly.
As a single mother, so much of what I wanted was very hard to find. I didn't know about coaching, mentors or even how to ask for the help I needed. I was that one that suffered in silence. That's why this organization exists. I want to offer women & children something I needed; direction, hope, focus and education.
Many of our teenagers that are aging out of the foster care system literally have no where to go. They have very few resources, and little hope of surviving. We offer our classes to these young girls to help them make positive choices, give them resources and a safe place to get them on the road to maintaining a positive, fulfilled life.
Many women are trapped in adverse situations with no hope. They are looking for a place they can feel comfortable, safe and where they can get the education needed to pursue their goals, advance their lifestyle and become self sufficient. We offer classes on entrepreneurship, leadership and community involvement.
Slavery has become a major problem in our nation. Women are being traded and sold by the hundreds. There are many operations that rescue women from this awful situation. We offer help for women that are returning home and in need of care, shelter and a safe place to recover.
There are many women, though no fault of their own have found themselves in situations where they have been incarcerated, lost their children and face difficulty when they are released. We want to help them avoid returning to these situations by giving them an alternative lifestyle.
Tranzitions is a For-profit and a Non profit organization. The money that we acquire from the sale of our products, our coaching/mentoring classes and grants are used to help the women that can't afford to get the help needed. A large percentage of our proceeds are used to help the women with registration, classes, workshops and events. With Each one, We Teach one!
